Comedian David Spade got a huge boost to his career as a regular cast member on "Saturday Night Live" from 1990-1996. He went on the star in such films as "Joe Dirt", "Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star" and "Lost & Found." Spade's best known film appearances are his movies that pair him with fellow "Saturday Night Live" alum, Chris Farley - "Tommy Boy" and to a lesser degree, "Black Sheep."
In 2009 Spade appeared on a late night talk show and, unfortunately for us, signed for fans before we arrived. Spade did not come over to the assembled fans on his way out, entering the parking lot and heading to his vehicle. I ran around to the parking lot's exit, holding up my photo of Spade and a blue sharpie. Sure enough, the driver slowed and Spade, who was riding in the passenger seat, rolled down his window, autographing my picture. I thanked Spade for taking the time to stop for me and he drove off on his way.
