Featured Item From Our Collection: How I Met Your Mother

While every attempt is made to blog about as many experiences as possible in a timely fashion, sometimes there isn't much of a story to tell. Other times it's a matter of not having the time to both stay at home and blog and attend events for the purpose of acquiring autographs. And even other times, it's just a matter of living life, doing other things besides autographs and just taking some time to relax and enjoy life. So sometimes we have gotten some nice autographs but never got the chance to blog about it. With all that being said, from time to time we will share some if these random items from our collection for your enjoyment.

"How I Met Your Mother" is one of the top comedy sitcoms on television today. In January 2010 there was an event held in Beverly Hills, California celebrating the 100th episode of this series. This was a rare opportunity for the chance of completing a cast signed photo, as all members of the show were in attendance. Even though the show features an ensemble cast, Neil Patrick Harris steals the show and is it's true star. The exploits of the womanizing "Barney Stinson" have become some of the funniest scenes of "How I Met Your Mother". We were lucky enough to wait in the lobby of the Paley Center for Media, while the cast members walked the red carpet and conducted interviews and posed for photographs with the media. Upon exiting the media room, Alyson Hannigan was a sweetheart. She signed several autographs, including a smiley face with each one. Neil Patrick Harris also stopped and signed for 3 or 4 fans. As is typical, he asked each person's name and personalized each autograph he signed. Jason Segel rushed out of the media room, signing only one autograph on his way to the screening room, where a screening and panel discussion was held. Waiting out back after the event, Jason Segel did sign several autographs stating, "One each" to collectors. However, we were able to obtain a couple. Neil Patrick Harris left in his car without signing, as did Alyson Hannigan. Alyson said she was sorry but had to get home to her newborn child which is understandable. Harris and Hannigan both signed for collectors before the event so most of the collectors already a a chance to snag their signatures. Josh Radnor was a great signer, with both of us scoring a couple autographs from him. As you can see from this almost-complete cast photo, it is missing Colbie Smulders. She was the lone disappointment since she did not sign for collectors in the lobby beforehand and was escorted by security to her car afterwards without picking up a pen either.
