3/12/2010: After meeting Leno, we decided to head to Hollywood to check out a movie premiere at the Sunset 5 Theatre. However, on our way we passed by the House of Blues and saw a red carpet and photographers for the "Unity For Peace Jam" concert assembled. We stopped by and found that it wasn't the strongest guest list around but decided to stick around for a little while.
The highlights included character actor Larry Hankin who played Monica's neighbor on "Friends", Mr. Heckles. Hankin also was a guest on some episodes of "Seinfeld" and was one of the starring roles in the film "Escape From Alcatraz" with Clint Eastwood. Hankin was extremely personable, personalizing an autograph to each of us and posing for a photograph with each of us. Hankin inscribed my autograph with the phrase, "I stole the raisins," a reference to his character on "Seinfeld". He has a humorous side as he inscribed my sister's autograph with simply "Ditto." I never did see Hankin walk the red carpet but he did stand near it for 45 minutes, talking and just hanging out. He's very approachable and it was nice to meet this gentleman.
Dian Bachar has been in several films with his friends, Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Bachar was a scene stealer as Kenny "Squeak" Scolari in "BASEketball" and also appeared in Parker and Stone's "Orgazmo." He also has made some appearances voicing characters in episodes of the animated show "South Park." Dian was wonderful, signing and personalizing an index card for each of us and talking about his current Internet movie project on http://www.thetvfantastic.com/ called "Roomates: The Series." Bachar was extremely nice in posing for a photograph with us, even being concerned about making sure the lighting was good for the picture. It was a pleasure to meet Dian Bachar as well as he certainly appreciates his fans.
